Mental Health Patient Flow
Mental Health: processes change frequently- see below, but consider all policies within the context of change and coordinate with Crisis/Psych on call.
Must meet below criteria to be placed in MHEAZ:
ER Triage Guideline for suitability to MHEAZ (Sep 15 )
Police supervision of Mental Health patients: Patients often come accompanied by police officers. The responsibility of supervising the patient while in ER until a final disposition can be complex and is a shared situation between the police and ER staff.
There is now technically a transfer of Custody Form to help Guide the process and ensure effective communication between police and ER staff.
