Lab Collection Guide
we all know how difficult it can be to know/remember which specimen goes in which tube/ used which swab. The following infographic is very helpful for yourself and the nurses. It does not include which swab or tube to use for basic C&S collection: the Rule is as follows: do your basic C&S (throat, wound) always with a WHITE swab (not pink) - you can then put it into a WHITE or PINK topped tube. Don't use the Pink swab (in the single or double set) for the swab.
